So the editors at Kelley Blue Book decided to try to find out what the best vehicle is for a road trip.

They picked 10 new vehicles for a summer road trip and asked nearly 6,000 new car buyers which they would most like to take a road trip in.

Twenty-two percent of the people in the survey picked the Chevy Tahoe, while 21 percent picked the Lincoln Navigator.

The rest of the top 10:

Lexus LS430, 17 percent
Mercedes E-Class, 11 percent
Dodge Magnum, 8 percent
Toyota Sienna, 6 percent
Volkswagen Jetta TDI wagon, 5 percent
Hyundai XG350L, 4 percent
Subaru Outback, 4 percent
Mazda 3 5-door, 3 percent

The Kelley editors noted that despite high gas prices, large SUVs were the favorite choices.

To be included in the voting, the vehicles had to be priced under $75,000 and carry at least four passengers.
